Three weeks ago I was among six other contenders for the biennial KCAI Art and Sculpture Competition, and we each received $200 to build our maquettes for the final round. We presented our maquettes in front of a panel of judges composed of five artists, collectors and craftsmen. Winners will have their design realized in metal, up to the size of 10ft. The finished product will be publicized and auctioned, the money will go towards KCAI scholarships.
This design will be 10ft in length, weigh 400lb, made out of core10 steel that’s weather resistant, bead-blasted stainless steel, and Aluminum. Project completion is estimated by April 2011.
